Join us for Finding Pride & Joy in Quilting, My Journey in Quilting This presentation will detail the quilting journey and upcoming projects of Veruschka Zarate, of Pride & Joy Quilting. From traditional quilt piecing to falling in love with Foundation Paper Piecing, we will explore how she is using foundation paper piecing to bring about fresh and modern pieces for quilters to make. We will discuss her development as a quilt maker and designer sharing all sorts of tips, tricks and techniques she has learned along the way. We will also explore some of the elements within my creative process such as successes and pitfalls within FPP construction and design, choice of fabrics and color selection, thread, tools and much more. She will also do a trunk show of her large-scale FPP pieces as well as upcoming projects.
Meet Veruschka
Veruschka Zarate of Pride & Joy Quilting is an Accomplished Award-Winning Quilt Maker and Pattern Designer, specializing in the technique of Foundation Paper Piecing.
She is a BERNINA and Handi Quilter Ambassador and recently released a New Thread Collection with WonderFil Specialty Threads.
She was one of the featured Faculty for The Modern Quilt Guild QuiltCon 2022, teaching "Modern Foundation Paper Piece Quilting" and will be teaching at QuiltCon Again in 2023.
Her Quilts have received several awards, including: The National Association of Certified Quilt Judge's Award of Merit for Outstanding Achievement in Quiltmaking, QuiltCon's First Place in Piecing, and Quiltcon's Peoples Choice.
Veruschka has been featured in numerous Magazines and Podcasts such as, Art Quilting Studio Magazine, American Patchwork and Quilting, Curated Quilts, Quilting Love Magazine, Fons & Porters& McCalls Quilt & Tell.
She currently presents to Quilting Guilds Around the world and offering Live Virtual workshops to Quilt Guilds on Foundation Paper Piecing.
She began learning traditional piecing and quilting techniques in 2016 and through a voracious desire to keep learning happened on Foundation Paper Piecing in 2019. After falling in love with the technique, Veruschka set out to create her own designs focused on subjects that inspire joy, vibrancy, empowerment and encouragement.
