Bubbles, Baubles, and Balloons by Jean Ann Wright showcases the crazy quilt effect created with her Creative Grids Wonky Log Cabin Trim Tool (CGRJAW13). Use a 40 pack of pre-cut 2-1/2-inch strips with lots of fabric options to enhance the scrappy look. Or use scraps you have on hand for a true stash buster.

These 10-inch blocks are trimmed at a jaunty angle after each round is sewn. Turning the blocks so the dark fabrics meet gives the illusion of squares set on point, but it is just fabric placement. Since you only need 24 blocks for the center, it goes together very quickly.
