Join us for a weekend of architectural fabric play and timeless design at the Log Cabin Virtual Retreat! Whether you’re a traditionalist at heart or a modern maker looking to push the boundaries of geometry, this online retreat is the perfect way to master one of quilting’s most iconic and versatile blocks from the comfort of your own sewing space.

Over the course of the retreat, we’ll dive deep into the world of the Log Cabin. We’ll start with a brief look at the fascinating history of this storied block before moving into a masterclass on construction. You’ll explore multiple ways to build your cabin—from classic rotary cutting and specialized rulers to the precision of foundation paper piecing. We’ll also spend time on the "magic" of the Log Cabin: the color theory and value placement that allow a single block to transform into hundreds of different secondary patterns.

Our instructors will guide you through live demonstrations, technical deep dives, and design sessions created to spark your creativity and build your piecing confidence. You’ll finish the weekend with a stunning project in progress (or completed!), a toolkit of new techniques, and a fresh perspective on how to use color and contrast to create high-impact quilts.

The retreat includes demonstration videos which are available to watch ahead of time if you want to (we know some attendees like to get organized before the weekend starts). You'll be able to ask questions and get additional live demonstrations during the retreat, too.
