Hello and welcome to the Yuma QAL kick off blog post!
We’re going to be working on our free quilt pattern, Yuma, over the course of the next two months. We’ve got bloggers lined up to write about Yuma and show us what they’ve done with the pattern over this time period, and at the end, we’ll have a linky party right here where you can enter your finished top to win prizes!
June 17 – kickoff blog post on Gotham Quilts (that’s this post!)
week of June 22 — Made by Chrissie D
week of June 29 — Faith and Fabric
week of July 6 — Daydreams of Quilts
week of July 13 — Lisa in Port Hope
week of July 20 — Sunflower Quilting
week of July 27 — Roar Haus
week of August 2 — Gnome Angel
August 10th — Life Under Quilts
August 12th – closing blog post on Gotham Quilts, start of linky party
August 19th – winner(s) chosen from linky party
At the end of the QAL, you’ll be able to enter to win prizes! To be eligible for a prize, you must complete a Yuma quilt top (the quilt doesn’t need to be quilted or bound to enter) and upload the image to the linky party. You’ll be able to choose an image either from Instagram or from your own blog (or from anywhere else that’s publicly accessible on the internet for that matter). You can use any fabrics you want for your Yuma.
International entries are welcome. Only one entry per person please.
And, the part you want to know about: The prizes!
The prizes are a $100 gift certificate to Gotham Quilts, and a bundle of Handcrafted courtesy of Andover Fabrics. It’s possible we’ll add more prizes as we go along… stay tuned!
My next post will be about getting started with my own Yuma. We’ll talk about how to pick fabrics for your Yuma, and we’ll even start cutting… including some fussy cutting!
Want to make your Yuma in the same fabrics as the original? We’ve got a kit for you right here.
Keep up with us
There are already Instagram posts about the QAL up! You can keep up with what’s going on by following the #yumaQAL hashtag over there. And please do post your own updates with that hashtag too, so we can see your wonderful Yuma!
If you have any questions about the QAL, please leave them in the comments and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.
