Using only two contrasting colors, learn how to construct the individual components used to make an improv Irene-style quilt. Discover how fun it is to make many types of stripes, triangles, squares and curves in new and original ways. You will make a 20-24” pillow top or mini-quilt ready to quilt as well as all the techniques to jump into a full-size improv quilt
Skill Level. This class is suitable for beginner level quilters. Basic patchwork experience necessary.
Teacher: Irene Roderick
This class meets 11am-3pm Eastern time (NYC local time) on Friday May 6th and Saturday the 7th. Some sewing between classes is encouraged. A Zoom invitation will be emailed to you the day before class.
Required supplies :
- sewing machine,thread, iron, ironing board
- rotary cutter
- cutting mat
- rotary rulers
- pins
- fabric marking pen/pencil
- spray starch or Terial Magic
- design wall/board at least 30" x 40"
- Fabric: 2 yards each of 2 contrasting fabrics, solids or small prints only
