CAROLYN FRIEDLANDER LANGUID
The newest Carolyn Friedlander fabric collection, Languid, has just arrived!
This new group has everything we love about Carolyn's fabrics: architectural details, great colors, and supremely usable prints. We're really excited that some of the prints in this group have an amazing iridescent shine.
As with all things Carolyn works on, her choices are intentional and thoughtful:
"The color palette for this group is both grounded and earthy but also with some exuberant pops. I recognize that there is a balance needed when working with shine, and so it was important to me to create a mix that was both embracing of the technique but not too heavy handed with it either. Color is such a great way to balance these things."
It's definitely hard to convey any type of metallic on a screen, but this picture does a pretty good job, especially on the brown print at the top.
If you're familiar with
Kona Sheen, this is a similar iridescent effect that's much softer to the touch than the typical metallic prints.
Carolyn also sent us this lovely picture, taken at an angle, to give you a better idea how these look in real life:
Isn't that so cool!?!
There are 18 prints in Languid, each wonderfully usable in its own way. Want to see what these look like it a quilt?
This is Carolyn's new quilt pattern,
Frond, which goes with her new collection.
This
pattern in stock, and we particularly love that she wrote the instructions for either foundation paper piecing OR template piecing!
In this sample, she's used Kona Solids Pickle as the background solid, with Languid for the spokes.
We've got it all in stock in-store and online now: fabric yardage, bundles, 5" charm packs, and the Frond pattern.
